CintaMama Lactation is committed to providing quality lactation consultation for its clients. We recognise the importance of ensuring that our clients (mothers, babies, and families) are fully informed and involved in their lactation care.

We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles. These principles set the standards for the way we handle personal information collected from the clients we support. As every client is aware, it is necessary for us to maintain the files pertaining to your lactation care information.

These files contain the following information:

  • Personal details.
  • Notes, details, and records of management made during lactation consultation.
  • Referral to/from other health professionals as needed.

Your lactation care files are handled with the utmost respect for your privacy. The files will be accessed by Lactation Consultant in CintaMama Lactation, and where necessary for the admin to handle your files to address administrative requirements as receiving lactation care. Our admin is bound by strict confidentiality requirements.

At times, it may be necessary to allow external organisations to access CintaMama Lactation practice files and possibly to view the lactation care records. They will be aware of the need to preserve the requirements of the Privacy Act.

Ordinary, we will not release the contents of your lactation care file without your consent. However, we advise that there may be occasions when we will be required to release details. For example, where the law requires it, such as subpoenas.

We advise that as a client of CintaMama Lactation, you have the right to access any information we have concerning you. Should you wish to access information, please ask your Lactation Consultant during your visit, or send us an email to [email protected] about this enquiry. Should you, at any time, have a complaint in relation to the policy of CintaMama Lactation practice, they should be made in writing, addressed to [email protected], marked “Private and Confidential”, and it will be attended to as soon as possible.
